Get to know more about the 4c features...
1.0 The overview administration
Using 4c you can indicate the overview pages of your favourites and your history. The overview pages provide you with a view of the diverse folders and web sites in an arranged format. If you click one of the indicated web sites, you automatically navigate to this page. Click one folder and you get access to the content of the folder. When clicking on a folder with the small green arrow upwards, you will move one level higher within the display. In order to close the overview page, just click the small red cross on the right rim.

1.1 The favourites
In order to display the overview page of your favourites, just click the favourites button in the
navigation bar. As a result you will see a window with a list of all favourites on the left side.
In order to call up the overview page now, click on the overview button:

Now another window is displayed showing your favourites.
You might call-up your favourites inside the window administration directly.
Just click on the favourites button. After that the favourites overview opens
up adjacent to the window administration.

1.2 The history
In order to display the overview page of your history, just click the history button in the
navigation bar. As a result you will see a window with a list of all favourites on the left
side. In order to call up the overview page now, click the overview button:

Now another window is displayed , showing your history. You will find a preview image
of the visited web site on the displayed folders.
You might call-up the history inside the window administration directly. Just click on
the history button. After that the history overview opens up adjacent to the window administration.

2.0 The windows adminstration
4c offers two different ways of window administration. Thanks to the window administration
you keep track with the open windows on the one hand and you are able to control all
open browser instances in a simple and comfortable way on the other hand.
The
-action button enables you to minimize, maximize resp. resorte or close all open internet explorer windows.
Furthermore you can open new browser instances with

For closing the window administration use the black cross.
Moreover the window administration contains the following buttons, which evoke the respective
functions with only one click:

3.0 The preview function
By scrolling the mouse-pointer over an activated back- or forward button
in the navigation bar, a preview of the web site appears. You reach it by one click on the button.
When you click the small arrow next to the back- respectively forward button, a drop-down list
including preview picturesof your history opens. Click one of the pictures and you are
automatically navigated to the chosen page.

4.0 The preferences
You call up the preferences window by choosing the tools menu in the navigation bar of
your browser and within the tools menu under point "4c extras". You can also click
on the right mouse button over the 4c icon inside the taskbar and then choose Preferences...
to call up the preferences dialogue.
All settings regarding 4c can be done in this preferences window, such as fixing the
size of the preview windows, position and size of the drop-down list, settings of the
windows administration, quality of the image generation, adjustments of the
task switch and security settings.
You also have the possibility to delete images already saved and to generate and
save a snapshot of the current web site.
Starting with version 2.5 you can choose between different 4c skins.
Confirm your settings by clicking the accept button.

5.0 The status display
The camera images symbolise the status of the preview pages. Picture no 1 is shown if no
preview image can be generated. Picture no 2 is shown if a HTTPS page is called up and a
setting on the options page is realised stating that no preview pictures should be
generated of secure sites. Picture no 3 is shown if a preview image is just being
generated and picture no 4 indicates the possibility to generate a preview image;
however this was not realised so far or was deleted.

6.0 The task switch
When you click on the TASK SWITCH button, an overview page opens, which displays you snapshots
of all open applications (tasks).
You can use the mouse to choose the
relevant application and click to get to this application directly.
The overview page enables you to manage all open applications,
as you can close each single application by clicking on the red cross in the
top-right position of each snapshot.

7.0 Taskbar - The application overview
As soon as more than two instances of one application are in use,
the application buttons are grouped within the taskbar. By clicking on
this group, now, the instances are displayed with snapshots.
With 4c you are enabled to choose one of the applications and put
it in the front or you can close a each single instance.
Under Extras/4c Extras/Preferences you can change the settings of the 4c task switch.

8.0 - The fade-in and –out button
The fade-in button ( button with arrow ) fades in or out the 4c windows administration, depending on the direction the arrow is pointing to.
By clicking on the lock-in button ( button with thumbtack ) you are able to
lock in the chosen status ( faded in or faded out ) of the windows administration.
The stucked thumbtack indicates that the chosen status is locked. The automatic mode
( fading in when two or more browser instances are opened and/or automatic hide ) is no more active then.
